We craft our small batch, super premium ice creams and sorbets in Rochester NY’s South Wedge neighborhood. We use local cream and the finest natural ingredients to create decadent flavors that bring pleasure with every bite.
Owners Jennifer Posey and Zahra Langford first started Hedonist Artisan Chocolates in 2007. In 2012 we decided to expand our delicious empire to artisan ice cream. We are privileged to work a great team dedicated to giving our customers the absolute best. Key members include Head Chocolate and Ice Cream Maker Nathaniel Mich and Customer Service Manager Justin Hubbell.
We make our ice cream and sorbet onsite at our shop in the South Wedge. We start with locally produced, high butterfat cream from Pittsford Farms Dairy, and then add the best ingredients we can find. We source ingredients from other local producers as much as possible, using coffee from Coffee Connection, fruit from Hurd Orchards, cheese from Lively Run Goat Dairy and honey from Doan’s Honey Farm. We balance these ingredients in each recipe for maximum flavor to create the best ice cream you have ever tasted. We also make all of our toppings, waffle cones and sauces from scratch.
We keep things simple, with only eight flavors available daily. These are always a mix of classics (such as Vanilla, Dark Chocolate), seasonal (fruit sorbet) and more adventurous flavors (like Coconut Curry and Whiskey Fig Goat Cheese). By limiting the number of flavors and keeping our batch size small, we can bring you the freshest ice cream in Rochester. We never add preservatives, artificial colors or flavors.
